Attiéké à la Casserole: A Simple and Tasty Traditional Recipe

Here's a recipe if you'd like your attiéké to have a grainier texture. This version uses less water than the recipe on the packaging. Just like with rice, some people prefer a creamier, softer, or firmer consistency. So, it's all about finding your perfect balance when it comes to attiéké!

Ingredients :

  • 300g of dehydrated attiéké grains (approximately 2 cups)
  • 2 cups of hot water

Material :

  • measuring cup or 1 cup
  • 1 bowl
  • 1 saucepan
  • 1 colander

Instructions :

  1. Put 300g of dehydrated attiéké (about 2 cups) in a large bowl.

  2. Add 2 cups of hot water to completely cover the attiéké grains.

  3. Let it rest for about 10 minutes to allow the grains to hydrate.

  4. Pour a small amount of water into a saucepan large enough to hold the colander without the water touching the bottom of the colander.

  5. Place the colander containing the hydrated attiéké on the pan with water, making sure that the colander is not immersed in the water.

  6. Cover the saucepan with a lid and bring the water to a boil over medium heat.

  7. Steam for about 5 to 10 minutes, until the attiéké is soft and slightly elastic.

  8. Remove the colander from the saucepan and let it rest for a few minutes before serving hot.

This method allows you to prepare attiéké with an authentic texture and delicious taste. Serve it with meat, fish, vegetables, or your favorite sauce for a flavorful meal.
